Roads & Infrastructure
The Company usually spends around 2 billion cedis per annum maintaining public roads around the concession area. High volumes of traffic and rainfall, together with low investment in road infrastructure in the area make this of critical importance for the Company and the people of the area.
The Samartex Roads Department has for the last years been solely responsible for development and maintenance of feeder roads both within the concession areas and public access routes.
The Department carries out major road works using GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and GPS (Global Positioning Systems) thereby ensuring that roads are well planned and mapped out before and during construction
Licenced Road Contractor
Samartex gained accreditation from the Ghanaian Ministry of Roads and Transport in 2003.
