Developments in 2003

The year 2003 saw a massive infrastructural build-up rather than success in the performance of the team in the league in which it failed to qualify for the Middle League by placing third in the Ten team competition. The year also saw the erection of a multi-purpose Dressing Room, extension and erection of new stands for spectators and an inner perimeter for the playing field. Currently the team is putting finishing touches to a Club house that would accommodate both Senior and Juvenile Players in our vision to set up an academy.

In the area of sponsorship, the team has made modest gains with the support of some of the Company’s Suppliers from Germany, the U.S.A. and a few local ones like Allied Oil and Diab and Sons Ltd. The chunk of the Club’s budget running into millions every year has been footed by the company. Our expenditure for the year 2003 alone amounted to ˘780,000,000 with an income of about ˘220,000,000.

Mention should also be made of the Supporters Union which contributed massively in terms of moral support to the team which has also boosted the confidence of the team in the entire community and its surrounding villages.

The vision of the team is to be able to qualify for the Premier League and to sustain the tempo and make it big in Africa. The team also intends to develop the juveniles in the region and beyond in the under 12, 15, 17 and 21 age range through a Football Academy and to contribute to the development of the sport in the country in general. For this purpose the team has earmarked on a massive campaign for sponsorship to enable us supplement the efforts of the company in terms of finance.
